God only authorized one system, the original, complete, and universal way of life, revealed through a long line of prophets and messengers from Adam, Noah, Abraham to Muhammad. The way of life mentioned in Quran is 'recognize the Creator, believe in the cause -&-effect and accountability, and lead a righteous life' (Quran 2:112; 2:62; 5:69; 22:17 and 43:68/69).
'Muslim' in the Quran is not a sectarian or religious label but a moral and behavioral identity describing anyone who sincerely submits to God and lives righteously. Quranic Islam is portrayed as a universal way of life shared by all prophets—from Adam to Muhammad—based on recognizing one Creator, accepting accountability, and practicing justice, compassion, and peace. Modern religious identities like “Jew,” “Christian,” or “Muslim” are described as historical, man‑made labels, not Quranic categories. Researchers of Quran emphasize that Islam means obedience and alignment with God’s guidance, while peace and social harmony are results of that obedience. A Muslim, therefore, is someone from whom peace, safety, and non‑harm continuously emanate, regardless of their religious affiliation. Quranic Islam is a behavioral system of ethical excellence, not a ritualistic religion, and that true Muslim identity is earned through conduct—not names, creeds, or inherited tradition.
